"Anchored"

Focused on our need for escapism during this past year and a half during the COVID-19 pandemic, "Anchored" portrays the metaphoric pause that many of us have experienced. The stillness of the boats as they lists silently on their sides beckoning us to embark on new exciting adventures.

As a result, I was drawn to, and took inspiration from, the receding tides of the English Coast. The idle boats being anchored on the exposed seabed with calm reflecting tones of the shore waiting for the tides to return to end their obsolescence. The ebb and flow of lockdown during the past year are reminiscent of receding tides and idle boats.
